Dr. Richard Croft
Our Pet Doctor
Dr. Richard Croft has been with Kingsland Blvd. Animal Clinic since 1985, the same year he graduated from Texas A&M University. He has been a partner in the practice since 1988. Dr. Croft chose to spend his career at KBAC due to the dedication of the employees, the compassion of the clientele, and the warmth of the community.
He is so proud to serve you and your pets in KBAC's new state-of-the-art facility. Dr. Croft has been married for over 30 years to his wife, Donna. He has two grown sons, Kevin and Bryan.
And, YES, Dr. Croft has his share of pets... a rescued dog named Trixie, and 3 birds (1 Cockatiel, and 2 Quaker Parrots) who rule the roost. For many years, Dr. Croft was known as "The Aggie Vet" on KILT Radio. Outside the clinic he enjoys going to the movie theater, fishing, working in the yard and especially spending time at his ranch near Round Top.
Dr. Susan Randlett-Price
Dr. Susan Randlett started practicing in Houston at Walnut Bend Animal Clinic after graduating from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine.
After five years as an associate with Dr. Dan Meadows and Dr. Mark Gochenour, she started a small animal practice with one of her veterinary school classmates, Dr. Rebecca Nichols. The women shared the responsibility of creating Kingsland Blvd. Animal Clinic in 1981. Through the years, the clinic has taken on new owners and associates, as well as expanded in size.
Dr. Randlett has been married to Dwight Price since 1976. They have one daughter, Kristy, who is married and has three children. She lives in a small town outside of Houston with her three dogs, one house cat, six barn cats, four horses, two miniature horses and six miniature donkeys.
Dr. Toby Shows
Dr. Toby Shows grew up in the small town of Sweeny, along the Texas Gulf Coast. He completed his studies at Texas A&M in 1993. Dr. Shows began working relief at KBAC in 1995 and has been here ever since! Dr. Shows considers himself lucky to be a part of such a high quality, dedicated veterinary practice.
KBAC has always provided an environment for continued growth and development to better serve our clientele. Dr. Shows has been happily married for 12 1/2 years (to Dr. Rico!) and has one daughter.
The Shows family has had a variety of pets over the years. Our current members include 1 dog and 3 cats. In his off-time, Dr. Shows enjoys catching a ballgame, fishing, traveling the back roads of Texas, and trying to keep up with his young daughter.
Dr. Adela Rico
Dr. Adela Rico is a home-grown gal, right here from Houston, TX. She graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. Dr. Rico first dreamed of becoming a veterinarian in 5th grade, and has since dedicated her career to helping animals and their people!
Dr. Rico started her career at a practice near the medical center, and worked there for 15 years. Then she relocated to Katy about 5 1/2 years ago. She also worked at area emergency clinics early in her career as well. She has been happily married (to Dr. Toby Shows!) for 12 1/2 years, with a beautiful daughter that is the light of her life.
Her animals include 3 kitties, 1 dog, a green iguana, and a red-tailed boa. Outside of working at KBAC, she enjoys being outside camping or hiking, as well as curling up with a good book.
Dr. Amber Woodin
Dr. Amber Woodin was born in Minnesota but moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, when she was just a few months old. Her time spent bird-watching with her father along the Gulf Coast and volunteering with local animal shelters and vet clinics in the Corpus area instilled in her a genuine compassion for all types of animals. This extreme love for animals developed into a goal of becoming a veterinarian, and so she set off to Aggieland to pursue her life-long dream. Dr. Woodin graduated with honors from both the undergraduate Biomedical Sciences program and the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University. Upon receiving her doctorate, she began working in the Houston area and is proud to now call the city of Katy, Texas, her home.
Dr. Meghan Denney
Dr. Meghan Denney is a graduate from Ross University of Veterinary Medicine. She is a native Texan who has always had a love for all things furry. She has never been without a dog or cat to cuddle with at night. She currently has 2 dogs named Aspen and Ariel. Aspen is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is the light of Dr. Denney’s life and Ariel who is her husband’s titled hunting dog. She also shares her life, bed, and sinks with 3 fantastic cats, The Munch, Gabriel, and The Salt Water Cat. She aspires to become a boarded feline practitioner in the next 3-4 years. As a major feline lover she hopes to grow the feline side of Kingsland Blvd. Animal Practice into a place where cats can continue to come and receive the highest standard of care and love.
Dr. Jennifer Penland
Dr. Jennifer Penland is very excited to be a part of the team at Kingsland Blvd Animal Clinic! Dr. Penland is a native Houstonian and attended Westside High School. She graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown,Texas with a bachelor of science in Animal Behavior and a minor in theatre. Dr. Penland was lucky enough to have Dr. Denney as a classmate in veterinary school at Ross University, then finished her clinical veterinary training at Texas A&M University . Dr. Penland has a Golden Retriever named Gladys, who enjoys holding hands and hiding in the bathtub during storms. Dr. Penland is especially interested in behavioral medicine and training, but enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine! In her free time, she enjoys cooking, fashion and traveling.
Dr. Aaron Rainer
Dr. Aaron Rainer received his B.S. in Biomedical Science in December 1998, and Mastered in Public Health and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in May of 2006. He has a strong interests in preventive medicine, internal medicine, surgery, and leadership.
Dr. Rainer holds several professional leadership positions and presently serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) and its over 3500 members. He has served on the Executive Committee as the Council Chair on External Affairs and as a Board of Director for two regions: North Central Texas & Gulf Coast. Dr. Rainer is also a co-lead of TVMA External Communications and has served in many capacities for TVMA, including the Legislative Committee, State Board Rules Task Force, Conference Rebranding Task Force, and the Recent Graduate Committee.
